Gary and I went to see this yesterday and it was really good! A perfect storm of wonderful actors and actresses; a funny, sad and sometimes very moving script and all the sights and sounds of India. It’s a very human story about people and the difficulties that come with trying to live up to other people’s expectations, and growing old disgracefully. All the cast were brilliant and I’m reluctant to single out one performance. It’s an intelligent script with no explosions, gun fights or car chases and I didn’t miss any of that for a moment! You can tell straightaway that it’s shot on location and I did warn Gary that it made me want to go to India! It shows India with all its poverty, confusion, noise and utter magic. This is a feelgood film but it doesn’t shy away from the realities of life (or death). Truly excellent and I would recommend it to everyone!
